A large snake proved a hit when its owner let it loose on a cricket pitch.

The reptile, believed to be an albino python, was spotted this afternoon at The Grove in Sittingbourne - the home of Gore Court Cricket Club.

An eye-witness said: "It was a great big python, huge, I'd say about 14ft.
