Jamie Pledger crashed into roadworks in Sittingbourne

A man has received five points on his licence and a fine after a his Ford Fiesta ploughed into a hole dug during roadworks.

Jamie Pledger was charged with driving without due care and attention after the accident in Key Street, Sittingbourne, at the junction with Wises Lane.

It happened last March.

The 23-year-old, of the town's Lydbrook Close, pleaded guilty in a hearing at Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court.

The fine came to £213 and he was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £21 and £85 in costs.
