Men arrested after crash on the A2 in Sittingbourne, between Esso Petrol Station and The Kings Head Pub

Two men have been arrested after a multi-vehicle crash on the A2, in Sittingbourne.

The crash, involving three vehicles, happened shortly after 5pm today, between the Esso Petrol Station and The Kings Head Pub.

It closed the road in both directions affecting traffic heading between the town centre and A249 Key Street roundabout.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Kent Police was called to a collision on the A2, Sittingbourne shortly after 5pm.

"Two men have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and driving offences they are currently in custody. Enquiries are ongoing."

The road re-opened around 7.30pm.
