Minterne Junior School's fireworks display which was due to take place tonight (Thursday) has been cancelled due to the snow.

It is the second time the event has been postponed by the school which is based in Minterne Avenue.

The first display was meant to take place on November 4, but it was cancelled at the last minute due to high winds.

The Parent Teachers Association which arranged the event, hope it will take place in the school field on Thursday, December 9 - weather permitting.

The gates will open at 6pm for a 7pm start.

Entry is £15 for a family of five - two adults and three children under the age of 15 - £5 per adult or £4 for children and OAPs.

There will be hot refreshments to buy on the night, arts and crafts stalls, games for the children and Santa's Grotto.

All money raised from the event will go towards buying items for the new hall which has been built at the rear of the school building.
