A crash is still causing long delays on the A249.

A bus and a car collided on the north-bound side at Stockbury.

There are heavy delays in the area, with traffic stretching past the County Showground and as far as junction 7 of the M20.

Police were called to the scene. Stock image.

One lane was closed, leading to huge tailbacks.

A Kent Highways spokesman said earlier: "Police are on scene but expect long delays."

They added at about about 6pm: "Both lanes are now open following an RTC. Delays remain on the approach."

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 3.51pm on Wednesday 20 September 2017 regarding a collision involving a bus and a car on the northbound carriageway of the A249 near Stockbury.

"Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where a woman was treated for injuries that are described as minor. She was taken to a local hospital for further medical attention.

"One lane has been closed until the car is recovered and drivers are advised to seek alternative routes at present."
