A man has released shocking footage of a driver nearly smashing into a group of pedestrians on a busy road.

Tim Ewing was with his partner, Gemma, driving along Mill Way, Sittingbourne, yesterday when his Fiesta’s dashcam filmed the terrifying incident.

Just as they pass the supermarket on their right a grey vehicle suddenly lurches past them.

The car pulls out into the line of oncoming traffic and narrowly avoids hitting a group of pedestrians just about to cross the road.

It then races off at break-neck speed just missing other vehicles as it does.

It happened at around 8.15pm.

Mr Ewing, 30, said: “After he almost hit some people he carried on and went round a roundabout the wrong way.

“I watched him when he came back round the roundabout - he looked about 14 with this big grin on his face.

“This is the stupidest, most reckless driving I’ve ever seen.”

Police confirmed the incident had been reported to them and they are making enquiries.
