Travel around Kent is being affected after heavy winds have caused a number of trees to fall on railway tracks this morning.

Trains from Gillingham to Sittingbourne have been disrupted due to a tree on the line at Newington this morning.

Fallen trees on the line have disrupted Southeastern services in Kent

This means services towards Faversham can't call at Newington while staff work to remove the fallen tree. Trains towards London aren't affected.

At around 5am another tree on the line disrupted trains between Faversham and Sittingbourne, affecting services on the Sheerness Line, but this was cleared by 6.30am.

More as we get it.
