Two men from Belvedere charged after security van robbed near Grove park, Sittingbourne

Police have charged two men after a security van was robbed in Sittingbourne.

A police helicopter was scrambled in the search following reports of a robbery from the vehicle in the Grove Park area at 8.31am yesterday.

It was reported an unknown amount of money was taken.

Two men have been charged

Sean Howard, 55, of Little Brights Road, Belvedere, and Charlie Howard, 21, of Jutland House, Belvedere, have been charged with robbery.

Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate have since recovered the money and inquiries are ongoing.

Both men have been remanded in custody.

They are due to appear before Medway magistrates today.
