Woman arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after stabbing in Sittingbourne

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a pensioner was stabbed.

Police were called to Bell Road, Sittingbourne, shortly after 7.40am on Saturday following a report that a man had suffered injuries to his chest consistent with a stabbing.

A 61-year-old woman from Faversham has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

She has been released on bail until Thursday.

The victim, a man aged in his 70s, who is known to the suspect, was taken to a hospital in London for treatment.

He remains there in a serious but stable condition.
