Sittingbourne have signed two Gillingham youngsters on loan.

Forward Henry Woods and right-back Danny Divine have joined on one-month deals and are set to make their debuts in the Bostik South East derby at Faversham on Saturday.

Woods was with Southampton's academy and made his Gills debut in a Checkatrade Trophy win over Crawley last month.

Divine, meanwhile, is on the comeback trail after dislocating his shoulder in a pre-season friendly against Sheppey.

Brickies boss Aslan Odev said: "We're very happy with the two players we've brought in.

"I'm hoping they will give everyone at the club a lift and add the quality we need at the moment.

"We've got two in to start with and I'm hoping this could be the start of a relationship with Gillingham which can grow stronger."

Meanwhile, Odev has been picking up tips from Dover boss Andy Hessenthaler.

He was invited to a behind-closed-doors friendly against Gillingham's development side and it proved a useful experience.

Odev said: "I was working with Nicky Southall (Whites No.2) and I asked the question, whether I could go along and watch a session.

"I'm learning to make the transition from coach to manager and any knowledge you can pick up is useful.

"Andy, Nicky and Darren Hare (first-team coach) are building something in a higher league and it's good to watch people who've been there, seen it and done it.

"I took my notepad along, I wrote stuff down and I learned a lot.

"With Andy Hessenthaler, it's his mannerisms, the way he does things, the way he carries himself.

"Hopefully I can take that back to Sittingbourne and it will help me get to the next level, to where I want to be in life and work."

Sittingbourne are out to end a run of six defeats in league and cup at Faversham.

Salters Lane was the scene of their last victory, 2-0 in an FA Trophy qualifier in mid-October.

Odev said: "Faversham will want to make amends for the FA Trophy.

"It will be a very tough game but if we play how we need to and go into it with the right attitude, I'm confident we'll get a result."

Brickies will be without left-back Josh Dorling, who has joined Sevenoaks for regular football.

Odev said: "I did everything I could to keep him.

"He's been fantastic for us and he's going to be a very good player but Sevenoaks came in and he has to do what's best for him."
