Sittingbourne ended a run of five straight defeats in all competitions by drawing 1-1 with Chipstead in Ryman League Division 1 South.

And it could have been better for the Brickies after they took the lead on 75 minutes through Jono Richardson.

However they couldn't hold on and the visitors levelled on five minutes later thanks to Will Turl to earn a share of the points.

Whitstable moved to within three points of the play-off places with a 2-1 win at Corinthian Casuals.

Ian Pulman opened the scoring in the first half and Tom Loynes made it 2-0 from the spot on 86 minutes.

Michael Salako pulled one back two minutes later but it turned out to be just a consolation.

Herne Bay struggled at home, losing 3-1 to Tooting & Mitcham as their play-off bid stuttered.

Three goals in the space of 12 minutes, straight after half-time, did for Bay as goals from Danny Summers, Frankie Sawyer and Howard Newton put the visitors in control.

Danny Williams struck in the final minute to at least give the home fans something to cheers.

Meanwhile, two goals each from Michael Campbell in Mickel Miller condemned Ramsgate to a disappointing 4-0 defeat at Carshalton.
