Woodstock Sports defender Joseph Fornah is training with League 2 Southend this week.

And Lee Hockey, boss of Southern Counties East Sports, reckons the youngster has what it takes to jump five levels and impress the Shrimpers.

Hockey said: "Southend want to have a look at him, to see where he's at, and it's a good chance for Joseph to see what it's all about at that level.

"There's a couple of areas we've told him he needs to work on and I'm sure Southend will say the same.

"But he's got all the attributes to make it at that level and if he has the commitment and desire to match, he's got every chance.

"He's quick and strong, good in the air and can play left-back or right-back.

"He's an athlete, which you need to be to play professionally these days.

"Whatever happens, it's a good experience for him."

Two Kent players have already moved into the professional game this season.

Ben Swift joined Premier League Aston Villa from Maidstone United while striker Ade Yusuff left Chatham for League 2 Dagenham.
