New Sittingbourne signing Adam Williams is the secret weapon who was once big news.

Former Ebbsfleet player Williams has been plucked from park football by Brickies boss Nick Davis, who remembered the striker from a loan spell at Erith Town.

If the 21-year-old rediscovers the form that attracted interest from Charlton, then Sittingbourne could have a gem on their hands.

Williams is likely to make his home debut when Bourne meet Tooting & Mitcham at Woodstock Park on Saturday (3pm).

Davis said: “Adam’s a bit of a secret weapon – no-one knows about him. He was with Ebbsfleet in the Conference and he came on loan to Erith Town and scored loads. He had a phenomenal return, something like 15 goals in 12 games, and Charlton were even looking at him.

“I think he had another year at Ebbsfleet, then he disappeared.

“He ended up playing in the Kent County League and then with his mates at a team called Waterloo, who play in a local league somewhere.

“It will take him a while to get used to the pace of the Ryman League but he’s one who could get 20 goals. He was such a good finisher at 18 and you don’t lose that ability."
