A 68-year-old man was left with two black eyes and cuts to his face and arms when he was assaulted during an argument over his parked car.

Police say the victim parked his car outside the White Lion pub in Tenterden High Street on Friday between 12.25pm and 12.40pm when another man shouted at him to move his car.

An altercation followed and the driver was punched. He later required stitches.

A 42-year-old man was arrested and bailed pending further inquiries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 01303 289180 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
