Woman reportedly sexually assaulted in graveyard at St Mildred’s Church in Tenterden

A graveyard in Tenterden has been taped off after a report of a sexual assault.

Police are investigating reports that a woman was sexually assaulted between 10pm yesterday and 4am today in or near the graveyard at St Mildred’s Church in Church Road.

Officers including a forensic team are at the scene.

A spokesman said: “Officers are currently carrying out enquiries at the scene.

“Anyone who has information about the incident is asked to contact police on 01843 222289, quoting crime reference ZY/37508/17."
