Three arrested as 400 cannabis plants seized in Broadstairs

Some 400 cannabis plants have been discovered growing at a property, with three people arrested.

Officers conducted a search in Salisbury Avenue, Broadstairs on Friday (June 16) and seized around 400 of the illicit shrubs.

The building contained a large cannabis cultivation operation which sprawled across four rooms of the property.

Earlier in the day a police patrol had stopped a van, after a tip- off it had a connection to drug dealing activity, travelling near St Nicholas-at-Wade.

Equipment suspected to have been used for growing cannabis were found inside the vehicle and a 28-year-old man from north London was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in supplying a controlled drug.

A further two men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of supplying a controlled drug and cultivating cannabis - one aged 25 and one 26.

All three men have been released on bail pending further inquiries.
