A crowd of 5,000 packed into Dreamland as UB40 featuring Ali Campbell and Astro took to the stage last night.

Reggae classics rang around the Margate theme park as fans poured in for the sold-out gig.

Such was the buzz surrounding the event that local Facebook pages were inundated with ticket requests ahead of the concert.

With a capacity crowd at the venue, there was a huge queue stretching along the seafront before the music started.

But it appears the gig was worth the wait, with revellers taking to Facebook to describe it as an "amazing night".

Fans were treated to favourites such as Red, Red Wine and Kingston Town.

Pam Cunningham-Taylor wrote on Facebook: "I had a fabulous night. Was nice to be out after all this Covid stuff."

Marleigh-jade Mckeown added: "Absolutely smashing night!"

While most people seem to have enjoyed the concert, there were some complaints about the venue's bars and toilets shutting earlier than expected.
