A busy road was blocked in both directions following an accident involving two cars.

It happened in Northdown Road, near the junction of Crawford Gardens in Margate.

Emergency services were called to the scene, causing significant congestion.

A police spokeswoman said: "We were called at 1.46pm to a report of a collision involving two vehicles on Northdown Road, Margate.

"No injuries are believed to have been reported and officers are in attendance."

The road has reopened and the traffic has cleared.
