A man has been arrested after drugs, a knife and BB gun were found during a search of a car.

Police patrolling Margate during the early hours stopped a car in Northdown Road.

The weapons were recovered from the vehicle along with a cannabis grinder, pouches of the drug and suspected Class A substances.

A police spokesman said: "A 36-year-old from Birchington was arrested and later released pending further investigation."

The car was pulled over at about 2.40am yesterday.
