An acclaimed UK festival is set to bring family fun and performances to the coast this Easter.

Dreamland, in Margate, has welcomed back Camp Bestival for a programme of events including live bands, game shows and family films.

The event, dubbed The Camp Bestival Takeover, will see more than a fortnight of events, including the Camp Bestival Easter Party on Easter Sunday, April 12.

The Easter bash will include performances from the Circus Raj team, who will be showing off their skills and tricks throughout the park.

Festival art workshops will also be popping up across the two weeks, where budding artists can come and practice their creative talents with other like-minded people.

Entry is free for the Easter party, but to ride attractions, visitors need purchase wristbands when they arrive at the park, or save 25% by purchasing tickets online.

The line up for the rest of the Easter Party has yet to be announced, but last year the day hosted the likes of The Cuban Brothers, Dat Brass and a DJ set from festival organiser Rob Da Bank.

Camp Bestival has been named Best Family Festival at the UK Festival Awards five times and is held at the end of July on the Dorset coast.

The line-up for the Dorset festival this year includes the likes of Friendly Fires, Liam Payne and Fatboy Slim, who appeared in an ice cream truck last month to sell tickets to his summer Dreamland show.

He promoted the two-day summer festival Hi Tide which will also feature ska-pop band Madness, to celebrate the fairground's 100th anniversary.

The event will have even more live music from the likes of Rudimental, Jax Jones and Baxter Dury.

The bash will include music and family activities

Dreamland has gone through it's fair share of peaks and troughs in its 100 years, including financial woes and suspected arson attacks.

The park successfully reopened in 2015, and in its first year more than 300,000 people visited.

The renovation of the fairground and restoration of the Scenic Railway cost a total of £28m.
