Police and ambulance crews called after car crashes into bin in Newington Road, Ramsgate

A car came to rest on top of a bin following a dramatic crash.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the collision in Ramsgate last night.

Police, paramedics and fire crews attended Newington Road at about 7.15pm.

Pictures from the scene show a heavy police presence alongside two fire engines and a number of ambulance vehicles.

It is believed the collision involved two vehicles. One, a grey VW Golf, suffered extensive damage when it crashed into a bin.

An ambulance spokesman said that no-one involved required hospital treatment.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Services (KFRS) spokeswoman confirmed two fire engines had been called, with crews assisting with scene safety but not being required beyond that.

A police spokeswoman said: “Kent Police received a report of a collision involving a car and a van at 7.15pm on Tuesday July 4.

“Officers attended the scene in Newington Road, Ramsgate, with other emergency services. No serious injuries were reported.

“Officers assisted with vehicle recovery and the road was clear by around 10.15pm.”
