Boy taken to hospital after collision with lorry in Margate while on his bike

A boy has been taken to hospital after being in involved in a collision with a lorry while on his bike.

Emergency services were called to the incident just before 8am this morning on Ramsgate Road in Margate following a report a boy had been hurt.

A police spokesman said: "Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service and the boy was taken to a local hospital.

"Sections of Ramsgate Road and College Road were closed while the incident was responded to but have since reopened."

A SECAmb spokesman added: " Ambulance crews attended and were joined at the scene by the air ambulance service.

"One patient was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to William Harvey Hospital by road with injuries including a leg injury."
