Canterbury Christ Church University students are searching for the local act that has The Thanet Factor.

The competition is run by Music Industry Management students from the Broadstairs campus. Ross Boardman, Lucy Cousins and Luke Reynolds are three second year students who have taken note of the exceptional musical talent in the area and want to give up-and-coming artists a platform to showcase their work.

They're calling on performers from local schools, colleges and external groups to visit The Thanet Factor MySpace page and get involved with the competition - the first of its kind for unsigned acts in the area.

Acts are urged to post their MySpace Music page address on to The Thanet Factor's site and the top five acts will be selected to perform at the final on Monday, February 15, at Horizons Bar, Canterbury Christ Church University, Broadstairs. The closing date for musicians to apply for a slot via the MySpace page is this Friday (February 5).
