Margate: Matthew Harkett charged after stabbing in Rosedale Road

A man has been charged following an alleged stabbing at a flat.

Police were called to reports of a serious assault in Rosedale Road in Margate on Sunday, where an officer was also reportedly attacked.

The assault victim, a man in his 40s, was flown to London hospital with injuries to his neck and chest.

His condition is described as stable.

Matthew Harkett, of Rosedale Road, has been charged with wounding a man with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm and assaulting a police officer.

The 39-year-old has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Medway magistrates today.
