A child was taken to hospital after being hit by a car.

Ambulance crews were called at about 3.30pm yesterday to reports of a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in Broadstairs.

The incident happened near the junction of The Broadway and St Peter’s Park Road, which is close to the town’s railway station.

Police also attended and the child was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital.

The youngster’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
