Missing man John Harvey.

A full-scale police search has been mounted after a missing man's car was found at a nature reserve.

John Harvey, 54, was last seen at 8.45pm on Saturday, when he left his home in Minster.

His car was found by police at Stodmarsh Nature Reserve near Canterbury yesterday morning.

Last night the police helicopter, dog units and Kent Search and Rescue volunteers helped in a large-scale search for Mr Harvey - which was resumed today.

He is described as a white man of stocky build, 5ft 8in tall, with brown receding hair. He was wearing black trousers, a black jumper, a black coat and black shoes.

Anyone who knows of his whereabouts or has information that could help in the search is asked to contact Kent Police on 101.
