An attack victim could be left blind in one eye after a vicious late-night assault in Margate.

The 22-year-old had been walking along Tivoli Road in the town on Sunday when he was assaulted from the side near Sanger Close at around 11.30pm.

The man didn't see his attackers, but they also swiped his tracksuit bottoms and trainers.

He managed to make it to the QEQM hospital with serious head and face injuries, and was later transferred to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.

Doctors fear he may be partially blinded as a result of the beating.

Police have carried out house-to-house enquiries, but would like to hear from anyone with any more information.

Call Det Con Michael Freeman on 101 quoting crime reference ZY/36437/12, or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
