Margate: Police catch driver after police chase

A man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs following a police chase in Margate.

The 19-year-old driver allegedly failed to stop in Northdown Road at around 3.25pm.

He then crashed into a tree nearby in Milmead Road.

Witnesses said the driver got out and ran

No injuries were reported.

According to witnesses, the driver got out of the car and started running following the chase, but was caught a few roads away.

People are reporting a police chase in Margate

An eyewitness said: "Police chase top of Millmead Road, Margate.

"Driver got out and run but was caught few roads down.

The driver has reportedly been caught

"Quick work from police."

A police spokesman said: "A 19-year-old man from Broadstairs currently remains in custody."
