A 22-year-old has been jailed for six years after he was found guilty of running a county lines group selling Class A drugs.

Leon Davis, of Erith, supplied cocaine and heroin to users in Margate.

Leon Davis has been put behind bars

He was arrested in south-east London in May following a probe by Kent Police.

Officers discovered messages sent by the ‘Deano’ county line, offering cocaine and heroin to drug users in Thanet in October 2019.

Working with the Met Police, officers identified Davis as running the line and he was detained in November and released while his activity was investigated.

Davis then passed the running of the phone line to a 17-year-old boy, but after officers discovered drugs were still being sold in the area, both dealers were arrested in May.

Upon appearing at Canterbury Crown Court, Davis, of Maran Way, Erith, admitted dealing Class A drugs.

'Class A drugs like those being peddled by Davis and others inevitably lead to knock-on crime and anti-social behaviour...'

He has now been jailed for six years.

DC Jake Griffiths said: "Kent Police is committed to preventing drugs being brought into the county and sold to vulnerable people in our communities.

"The length of the sentence in this case reflects the fact that class A drugs like those being peddled by Davis and others inevitably lead to knock-on crime and anti-social behaviour in the areas where they are dealt."
