Elderly woman suffers serious injuries after road traffic collision in Minster Road, Westgate-on-Sea

An elderly lady has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after she was struck by a car in Westgate-on-Sea this morning.

Kent Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision in Minster Road at around 11.20am.

The woman, who was in her 80s, had been in collision with a Rover car.
She suffered what are believed to be life threatening leg and abdominal injuries and was flown by Kent Air Ambulance to a London hospital.

The road remains closed this afternoon while police officers from the serious collision investigation unit conduct their inquiries.
