Firefighters extinguished a small blaze at the back of a popular Margate pub this morning.

Crews from Ramsgate and Margate were called to The Orb, in Ramsgate Road, at 6.30am following reports a small wooden structure behind the pub was alight.

Watch manager David Hudson, from Ramsgate, described it as a lean to.

He said: "It was only a small fire and crews left after about half an hour."

The cause is unknown.

TripAdvisor rates The Orb as one of the top ten restaurants in Margate. It is run by Shepherd Neame.
