Broadstairs: Knife found in Pierremont Park

A knife measuring up at five inches was found in a popular public park.

Police were searching Pierremont Park in Broadstairs on Thursday, September 20, when the weapon was uncovered.

Meanwhile in Ramsgate, a man was arrested on Saturday night near the harbour after officers found a blade hidden in a sock.

Armir Cuni, of Daytona Way, Herne Bay, has been charged with one count of possession of an offensive weapon.

The 28-year-old has been bailed to appear at court on Thursday, October 25.

It came as part of a week long operation to tackle knife crime, dubbed OpSceptre.
