A fraudster must surrender a Thai property he bought after cheating 30 people so that he can repay more than £10,000 to them.

Dominic Nardone, formerly of Westfield Road in Margate, was convicted of fraud in August 2016.

The 41-year-old is serving a six-year sentence after at least 30 victims were defrauded into using his services to invest in the stock market.

Instead of investing the money, Nardone used it to fund a luxurious lifestyle and purchase property in Thailand.

It was ruled at Canterbury Crown Court that he must repay a total of £11,500, with £9,500 of that coming from equity for a property he owns in Thailand.

He must pay the money within three months or risk an increased prison sentence.

The £11,500 will be paid directly to Nardone’s victims, via a trustee.

Detective Inspector Annie Clayton, from the Serious Economic Crime Unit, said: "It is entirely appropriate that Nardone will not get to reap the rewards of crime when his custodial sentence is served."
