Canterbury man charged with GBH after assault in Ramsgate

A suspect has appeared in court after a man was left with head injuries following an assault.

The victim, aged in his 30s, was taken to a local hospital after being attacked in King Street, Ramsgate, between 8pm and 9pm on Saturday.

Police were called to the scene and James Beaumont, 19, of Lancaster Road, Canterbury, was later charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was remanded in custody. The case will next be heard on March 14 at Canterbury Crown Court.
