A 15-year-old girl was left with a broken leg after being injured in a hit-and-run smash in Margate.

The youngster was treated at the QEQM hospital in the town, after a Vauxhall Corsa hit her as it overtook a car that had stopped for pedestrians on Sunday.

The driver of the silver Vauxhall Corsa failed to stop after pulling out of Westbrook Avenue onto Canterbury Road, near the Tesco Express, at around 7.50pm.

A wing mirror from the silver car was broken off in the crash, and the driver is being urged to contact police urgently.

Anyone who has any information about the driver of the silver car, is asked to contact PC Karl Fisk on 101.
