A kind-hearted hairdresser is offering free haircuts to people who may be struggling with finances in the run-up to Christmas.

Marcello Marino is inviting people who can't afford to get their hair cut to come in to Marcello Hair Salon on Cliff Road in Ramsgate next Tuesday.

"I'm offering all-day free haircuts to those who really can't find the money to have their hair done, " he said.

"Every year I like to do something, whether it's for the hospice or another charity.

"One time I had people donate £10 for a hair cut and then that went to the Pilgrims Hospice, but this year it's completely free for people who need it.

"It's for people who really can't afford it, so they can look nice for Christmas and be pampered a bit."

Mr Marino says people are free to drop in, but ideally to make an appointment by calling the salon on 01843 592027.
