A booming restaurant and bar brand has confirmed it is set to open up its latest outlet in Ramsgate.

Loungers - the company behind the Lounge and Cosy Club brands - will open up a site on the promenade as part of the Royal Sands development.

The Royal Sands development will eventually have a string of shops, restaurants and cafes sat below the swanky apartments

If all goes to plan, it will open its doors on June 12. Staff are currently being recruited.

The Perico Lounge, as it will be called, comes hot on the heels of the Riparo Lounge which it opened recently in the former Debenhams building at nearby Westwood Cross.

It also recently confirmed it will open a Leo Lounge in Faversham - also in June.

Residents at the Royal Sands development - a swanky apartment building which was built on the former Pleasurama site on Ramsgate seafront - have been notified of the opening while a six-week fit-out of the cafe-bar takes place.

In a letter it wrote: “We want Perico Lounge to be a home-from-home, offering food and drink all day, every day.

“Our take on food is fresh, value for money and diverse from the classic full English breakfast and a really great burger to exciting twists of tapas and flatbreads.”

The Lounge brand is one of the fastest-expanding in the UK - and now has well over 200 outlets. It is estimated a new outlet is opening in the UK every 10 days as the formula proves a hit.

The parent company, Loungers, has also launched Lounge sites in Deal and Sittingbourne. It also owns Cosy Clubs and opened one in a former fabric store in Canterbury city centre in 2022.

The Royal Sands development has already confirmed a gelato 'boutique' as the first operator to take on one of the units at the luxury beachfront development.

Destefanos will serve Italian gelato, coffees and pastries.

Once work is complete and the outlets open it will create a vibrant new stretch of promenade in Ramsgate - close to the marina and Wetherspoon pub.
