Legendary punk band comes to Thanet

The Vibrators

Garage punk meets rock’n’roll and The Ramones meet pub rock - that’s what The Vibrators promise when they shake the stage with their high energy show at Margate’s Westcoast on Saturday (April 17).

Supported by Submission, the band promises to relive the spirit of 1977 when punk shook the music tree and blazed a trail of raw power.

Their blitzkrieg of rocket-fuelled, breathless power pop is described by All Music as “short, punchy songs with sneering melody lines and gutsy guitar breaks."

In their long career, The Vibrators have toured with Iggy Pop, Ian Hunter, and The Flaming Groovies, and have had their songs covered by The Exploited, UK Subs, GBH, REM and others.

Still gigging after 34 years with around 120 shows each year, The Vibrators' Margate performance will feature numbers from a large back catalogue including Baby Baby, Pure Mania, Automatic Lover, (Judy Says) Knock You in the Head, Whips & Furs, London Girls, Public Enemy No 1, Flying Duck Theory, Troops of Tomorrow!

Tickets are £8 in advance and £10 on the door.
