Broadstairs: Police appeal after girl hit by van in Margate Road

A man has been arrested after a girl was hit by a van, leaving her with severe injuries.

The teenager remains in a serious condition after she was flown to hospital in London with a foot injury.

Police were called to the A254 Margate Road, Broadstairs, shortly after 2pm yesterday after a white Renault Traffic van hit the pedestrian, between the roundabouts for Ramsgate Road and Westwood Road.

Police have been called to the crash.

The van was travelling from the direction of Broadstairs, towards Ramsgate, in the moments leading up to the incident.

A 40-year-old man, from the Margate area, was arrested in connection with the incident.

He has since been released pending further enquiries.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are keen to speak with anyone with information who has yet to make contact with police.

They would be particularly interested in receiving dash cam footage.
