Man arrested in Margate on suspicion of racially aggravated public order, criminal damage to a police car and drug possession

A man has been arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order and criminal damage to a police vehicle.

He was stopped by British Transport Police officers last night (May 20) at 7.10pm at Margate Railway Station.

He was searched and later arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A and Class C drugs, and criminal damage to a police van on the journey to custody.

He has since appeared in court where he was bailed with conditions to allow for further inquires with the Crown Prosecution Service.
