Man 'attacked and robbed' after coat hood pulled over head in Ramsgate

A man was reportedly attacked and robbed after his coat hood was pulled over his head.

The victim, who is in his 30s, is said to have been carrying a bag of groceries in Hardres Road, Ramsgate, when the incident took place.

The victim's shopping was stolen along with a quantity of cash.

A police spokesman said: "He reported he was approached by two people who spoke to him before his coat hood was pulled over his head and he was assaulted.

"Money and the bag of shopping were stolen during the robbery."

Two people were charged with robbery the day after the incident, which took place on February 16.

Paul Jackson, of Clements Road in Ramsgate, appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court where he was remanded.

The 35-year-old will next appear at Canterbury Crown Court on March 20.

Rosie Richards, also from Ramsgate, was bailed.

The 29-year-old suspect, of Thanet Road, will appear at Margate Magistrates’ Court on April 27.
