Man charged after serious assault in Garlinge High Street, Margate

A man has been charged after a serious assault in a Kent high street.

Police rushed to the scene in Garlinge, Margate, shortly after 6.30pm on Sunday, to a report a man had been attacked.

The victim, aged in his 30s, was treated at the scene by medics before being taken to hospital for further attention.

Adam Silver, of Mere Gate in Margate, was later charged with causing wounding with intent.

Mr Silver, aged 35, appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court today where he was remanded in custody, to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on September 27.
