A man has died following a fire in a flat.

Firefighters were called to St Mildred's Road in Ramsgate after reports of a blaze at around 8.15am.

Two fire engines attended, and crews discovered a man had died at the scene.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to put the fire out, and the cause is under investigation.

They remained at the scene for more than three hours.
