A man has been found dead at the foot of cliffs after concerns were raised for his welfare.

The alarm was raised after the person was spotted near West Cliff Promenade in Broadstairs just before 9am yesterday.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the scene, with a large presence of emergency crews seen throughout the morning.

Sadly, the man in his 60s was confirmed dead.

A police spokesman said: “The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.”

A single bouquet of flowers was spotted at the scene of the tragedy this morning.
