Ramsgate: Man found unconscious after serious assault in King Street

Police and paramedics were called this morning after a man was found with head injuries.

Emergency services went to King Street, Ramsgate, after the alarm was raised at 6am.

The man, in his 40s, was said to be unconscious and appeared to have been assaulted.

A police spokesman said: "Police were called to a report of concern for the welfare of a man at 5.57am.

"A man has been taken to a local hospital with head injuries believed to be serious.

"Officers attended the scene and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances."

She confirmed this afternoon that the man's injuries are no longer being treated as serious.

The road has now reopened.
