Man hit with metal bar in serious daytime assault in Ramsgate

A man suffered head injuries after he was struck with a metal bar in broad daylight.

Two people have been arrested by police following the serious assault in Ramsgate.

The victim was approached by two men shortly after 1.30pm on Tuesday, following a dispute in Arklow Square.

One of the men is said to have punched the victim, before the second man reportedly hit him with a metal bar.

The victim suffered head injuries and was taken to a local hospital, from which he has since been discharged.

Two men, both 28, were arrested on suspicion of assault.

They have since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
