Man taken to hospital after being hit by car on A28 Canterbury Road in Birchington

A man has been taken to hospital after being struck by a car on the A28 Canterbury Road in Birchington.

Emergency services were called to the scene at the junction with Yew Tree Gardens at about about 11.25am.

Police closed the road, which was reopened at 1pm.

A police spokesman said: "Police were called to a collision involving a car and pedestrian in Canterbury Road, Birchington at 11.25am.

"Officers attended the scene along with the South East Coast Ambulance Service where the pedestrian, a man, was taken to a local hospital.

"The road was reopened at around 1pm."
