A man has been rushed to a London hospital after a car overturned at a roundabout on a major route.

The crash happened at Monkton Roundabout along Thanet Way, and police and ambulance services were called.

Police closed the route from Tothill Street and Minster Roundabout to the scene of the crash, but it has since reopened.

A police spokesman told KentOnline: "We were called at around 10.50am today after a car overturned on Monkton Roundabout.

"Officers attended and one man was taken by ambulance to a London hospital.

"Road closures were in place but have since been lifted."

It is understood that his injuries are not life threatening.
