The 37-year-old had earlier pleaded not guilty but was convicted at a hearing on Monday, December 23, and sentenced on December 27.

He had gone to Ramsgate's Harbour Parade on Friday, September 6, carrying a blue sock which contained snooker balls and was wrapped around with tape.

Magistrates also directed that the sock and balls be forfeited and destroyed.
