Man left with facial injuries after assault along Northdown Road in Cliftonville

A man was left with facial injuries after being hit in the back of the head and repeatedly kicked in the face.

The victim, who is in his 30s, was struck with an object as he walked along Northdown Road in Cliftonville at about 8.20pm on Friday, January 11.

He has told police he was pounded in the back of the head and knocked to the ground, where he was then booted in the face multiple times.

Nothing was stolen from him and the suspect left the scene.

Detectives have since made house-to-house enquiries and reviewed CCTV in order to identify and locate the person responsible.

They are keen to hear from any further witnesses or anyone who was driving along Northdown Road near Dalby Road at that time who may have dashcam footage of the incident or any information that could assist with the investigation.
